Shilesh Iyer

About

Active with the American Academy of Dermatology, Shilesh Iyer, MD, has an emphasis on mind and body balance in his practice as associate physician with the New York Dermatology Group. Also an assistant clinical professor at the Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons, Dr. Shilesh Iyer has extensive knowledge in cosmetic procedures that include liposuction-based body sculpting.

Dr. Iyer also offers energy- and laser-based treatments for issues such as sun damage and skin laxity, and has experience in injectables, from Botox to Kybella. His qualifications include undergraduate studies at Yale University in molecular biophysics and biochemistry, as well as economics. He subsequently earned honors and induction into the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society as a New York University School of Medicine student. Following an internship through the Harvard Medical School at Boston’s Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center, he served three years as chief resident in dermatology at the UCLA Medical Center in Los Angeles.

Extensively published in his field, Dr. Shilesh Iyer has authored chapters in the textbooks Liposuction: Principles and Practice, and Cosmetic Surgery: Art and Techniques. He also collaborated with Joan Rivers on the well-received cosmetic surgery guide Men Are Stupid and They Like Big Boobs.
